karma vs experience

often people blame it on fate when situations happen, and we tend to over use the term 'karma' and mistaken it with fate. karma is about cause and condition and most of the time, you are the reason why things happen the way it happend.

while soldering pcb board this afternoon, i reflect upon the years of experience working in simlar labs at different companies. some of the places i worked were great, and some could be better. often i got to sit in a comfortable chair, once my office had a fantastic mountain view, and some years ago for four month i was stuck in a storage room with no windows at all. all of those doesn't matter to me at all. during interviews no one cares what's the size of your previous computer screen or if you had to share your garbage bin with your office mate. even your previous salary does not matter that much. what is important is your work experience.  some people consider themselvs to be lucky because at work they get paid for doing nothing, while other people have to work like a dog to earn minium pays. at the end of the day it's hard to judge who is luckier because money is just money, you buy this and that and eventually the money would be gone, but your work experience stays with you. your job title may differ, your pay may raise, your career path may change, but your work experienc is what you have earned for yourself, and no one can take it away from you.

and this is how karma works in our life too. your appearance may age, your status may change, your beloved ones may leave but karma stays with you and no one can take it away from you. you can live a care free life without worrying about being hunger for the next meal time, or you can use the time of your life to cultivate merits, acquire dharma wisdom and  pratice buddhism.
